Mike grew up in suburban Philadelphia attending Haverford High School during the year and Camp Ramah in the Poconos during the summer. The University of Pittsburgh was Mike’s home for four years where he was active in many campus activities including Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity. Throughout his years at Pitt, Mike taught Seventh grade Religious School and tutored B’nai Mitzvah students Following graduation, Mike became the Jewish Campus Service Corps Fellow at Pittsburgh Hillel beginning a 11 year Hillel career that has taken him from Pitt to Harvard University and now to Kent State.


Mike and his wife, Leah, 2 year-old son, Jonah, pug named, Yoda live in Akron.  Together the family enjoys spending time together outdoors and traveling.

Hillel’s professional staff come from Higher Education and Jewish Education backgrounds. Hillel staff is always available to meet with students for questions about the universities, roommate problems, discussions of serious issues or just plain schmoozing.  Hillel staff work closely with students developing leadership and resume building skills applicable to many career goals regardless of academic major.
