Char joined the Hillel staff in March 2009.  Prior to that she worked at the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland in both the Campaign Department and the Philanthropic Planning Group, and also worked as a consultant to The Nesiya Institute. She did both her undergraduate and graduate work at Northern Illinois University. A native Chicagoan, Char and her husband, Dale, moved to northeast Ohio in 2002. Char is a member of the board of trustees of The Park Synagogue, and enjoys cooking, music and keeping in touch with friends. Char and Dale have a son, Michael, a student at Tufts University in Boston.

Hillel’s professional staff come from Higher Education and Jewish Education backgrounds. Hillel staff is always available to meet with students for questions about the universities, roommate problems, discussions of serious issues or just plain schmoozing.  Hillel staff work closely with students developing leadership and resume building skills applicable to many career goals regardless of academic major.
