Rebecca Meiser Engagement Associate

Hillel’s professional staff come from Higher Education and Jewish Education backgrounds. Hillel staff is always available to meet with students for questions about the universities, roommate problems, discussions of serious issues or just plain schmoozing.  Hillel staff work closely with students developing leadership and resume building skills applicable to many career goals regardless of academic major.

Becky joined the Hillel staff in December 2008.  A native of New Jersey, she received her B.A. from Northwestern University, where she minored in Jewish studies and served as vice president of the student Hillel.

Becky brings a unique perspective to the Hillel community, having worked as a reporter for five years in New York, Fort Lauderdale and Cleveland. She chronicled the intricacies of Orthodox matchmaking and interviewed Cleveland’s longest reigning bar mitzvah king before deciding to work on behalf of the Jewish community, full-time. She's been active in Cleveland's young Jewish leadership circles for years, organizing happy hours and working as a mentor in the Jewish Big Brother/Big Sister program. Becky is also no stranger to Kent – her sister is a recent graduate of the school. In her spare time, Becky enjoys yoga, running, and writing.
